These fluorite specimens present a highly uncommon convergence of layered color and layered crystal formation, preserved in a single, uninterrupted growth.

Soft strata of pastel green, lavender-purple, pale aqua, and blush pink appear in distinct patches. Each color corresponds with a shift in crystal habit, creating layers that are not only visually apparent but clearly tactile, offering depth, texture, and architectural presence.

On Formation and Structure

Fluorite typically expresses a single dominant growth habit. In these specimens, multiple formations coexist in sequence, stacked with unusual clarity:

  • Cubic fluorite growth, with defined geometry and structural order
  • Sugar-like microcrystalline formation, lending surface texture and subtle luminosity
  • Transitional layers where growth habits shift

The result is a specimen that reads vertically, layer by layer, with four distinct zones that can be both seen and felt. Such preservation suggests extended stability in the geological environment, accompanied by gradual changes in chemistry and temperature that allowed each phase of growth to complete before the next began.

This precise alignment of color zoning and crystal habit is exceptionally uncommon. It is not a variation of pattern, but a sequence of events recorded in mineral form.

This specific combination of four visible layers and stacked crystal formations is not something we have encountered elsewhere.
