Money Toad — How Goodness Beckons Abundance
Let us take you back to the time of the Tang dynasty when legend was born under the starry skies. On one such moonlit evening, the scholar Liu Hai came upon a small three-legged toad ensnared by a serpent’s coils. He freed her with gentle care, and as gratitude, she appeared again at his side clutching a gleaming coin in her mouth. Rather than offering a single gift, she bound herself to him as a loyal companion—ready to produce a fresh coin each time he called. From that night on, she was honored as the Money Toad, a sculpted emblem of prosperity earned through kindness, integrity, and steadfast effort.
Carved today as a poised female figure bearing a coin, the Money Toad serves as a quiet prompt to cultivate gratitude, opportunity, and intentional stewardship. Following traditional Feng Shui guidance, no more than nine toads should be displayed within a single building. A single figure is best placed just inside the main entrance, set slightly to one side and facing inward. This vantage encourages the positive flow of opportunity into the space — offering a visual anchor for honest gain, earned through care, consistency, and wisdom.
Tachi Stone — A Frequency of Balance and Steadfast Focus
Tachi Stone is a rare variety of chalcedony or jasper most often found in tones of black and white, with patterns that can be marbled, streaked, or softly clouded. Some pieces are a striking contrast of light and dark, while others are entirely black, their surfaces smooth and subtly reflective. The contrasting black-and-white varieties are often likened to the yin-yang principle — the harmony of complementary forces — while the solid black form carries an especially strong association with focus, grounding, and the quiet strength of endurance.
When carved into a Money Toad, Tachi Stone adds a distinctive visual and energetic layer to this symbol of abundance. The toad’s legendary role as a beckoner of opportunity is complemented by the stone’s grounding frequency, creating a subconscious anchor for prosperity that is both dynamic and stable. The interplay of light and dark in the stone mirrors the balance between growth and preservation, reminding the viewer that success is not just about what flows in, but also about protecting and sustaining it over time.
